tube vs model 5Hi,
I wrote to you last year about why AGV only produce SS amp and not tube amp. I really fascinated with you replied explanation, and every since than my mind keep on thinking what you meant by (our amplifiers are intended to show you how the speakers "can" sound, not how they "must" sound)
Finally Dec 2008, I tried the model 5+, it was an astonishing experience, that day and kept the model 5+. It is best suited to the speaker and very much coherent to the music I listen to.

Ein Nachtrag zur HIFI-World in Bonn (01.11. – 02.11.2008)
Auf dieser Messe wurden in 9 Veranstaltungsräumen Anlagen im Wert von 10.500 € bis 130.000 € vorgeführt. Bei drei Vorführungen standen 2 Paar Lautsprecher unterschiedlicher Hersteller abwechselnd zur Verfügung.
Am Sonntag, den 02.11., wurden ab 14:00 die Lautsprecher wieder gewechselt und im Saal Koch kam die UNO an die Reihe. Die Moderatorin Frau Renate Paxa hatte es auch so angekündigt und ihre sehr schöne 25-minütige Präsentation gestartet. Der Raum war brechend voll - ca. 30 Leute mussten stehen. Nach dem Vortrag versammelten sich einige Besucher vorne bei den Lautsprechern. Es kam ein Herr dazu, der zu Frau Paxa sagte, dass Sie sich ja wohl vertan hätte - er trat auch sehr selbstbewusst auf, frei nach dem Motto 'Frauen und Technik'. Man hätte ja nicht die Hörner gehört, sondern die Standlautsprecher Newtronics Manhattan ..... . Darauf hat Frau Paxa nur lächelnd als Beweis auf die Verkabelung verwiesen. Er sagte darauf, dass er jahrelang vergeblich versucht hat, seinen Klipschörnern über die Elektronik einen vernünftigen Klang beizubringen und so natürlich wiedergegebene Musik hätte er noch nie aus einem Horn gehört.
Netter können Komplimente nicht ausfallen.

I have just bought a pair of used Avangarde Solo speakers and think they are fantastic. I dont have a user manual and so I am struggling with the various controls at the back. Would it be possible to please email me a user manual and any other literature on the Solo. In time, I would love to buy a Trio-Classico!

I feel compelled to write a few words about what I experienced last night when I listened to your speakers for the very first time. How should I start to give a suitable description of my experience? Probably that way: having owned electrostatic speakers in the past I thought I knew enough about speakers. My current speakers are conventional floor standers as I cannot accomodate electrostats currently, but I would certainly have considered electrostats again. Until yesterday that was. Never did I know how much plain fun music playback can be when your speaker is not limited to certain recordings and to a certain volume range. How easy and effortless these horns were! Convincing my wife will probably be the hardest part now. But I will soon visit my friend with the duo again, this time my wife will accompany me. Keep your fingers crossed for me. PS: his system sounds AND looks fantastic and so I asked him to upload a picture to your gallery. He is definitely considering this.

zu verkaufen?

vielen Dank für Ihre Anfrage und Ihr Interesse an SOLO-Aktivmodulen.
Wir müssen Ihnen leider mitteilen, daß wir keinerlei Einzelkomponenten
unserer Lautsprechersysteme bzw. unserer Elektronik verkaufen.
Außerdem dürfte eine SOLO-Endstufe in einem anderen System nur rein zufällig
einen Sinn haben. Denn neben dem eigentlichen Verstärker beinhaltet das
Modul eine Regelung, sowie eine Aktiv- und eine Passivweiche, die genau auf
die von uns entwickelte Gehäuse-Lautsprecher-Kombination zugeschnitten sind
und auch nur damit sinnvoll funktionieren.
Am Selbstbaumarkt (Intertechnik, Monacor etc.) gibt es sicher verschiedene
Verstärkermodule, die wesentlich weniger speziell einsetzbar sind.

Bezug nehmend auf den o.g. Betreff kann ich nur sagen: "DAS BESSERE IST DES GUTEN FEIND!"
Ich bin nun schon seit etlichen Jahren treuer AA-Fan und habe von DUO bis heute TRIO verschiedene "Lebenszyklen" durchlaufen. Es macht immer wieder irren Spaß, sich am Feierabend/Wochenende hinzusetzen, die Anlage "hochzufahren" und (sorry!) wirklich geilen Sound zu hören.
