Sehr geehrtes Team von AVANTGARDE ACOUSTIC,
heute, am 26.04.2004, habe ich die Highend-Messe in München besucht. Ich durfte auch der Vorführung beiwohnen und zuhören, die Ihr auf der Messe gegeben habt. Und ich muss einfach als alter B&W-Fan sagen:
IHR SEID EINFACH MIT GROSSEM ABSTAND DIE BESTEN!!!! Es war einfach unglaublich, wie Eure Hörner musiziert haben. Und der Bass!! Der Druck über den ganzen Frequenzbereich! Die Details der Musik! Die Stimme! Was soll ich noch sagen? Einfach für mich die ABSOLUTE REFERENCE!!!
Leider muss ich im Lotto gewinnen, um mir ein Haus bauen zu können, wo die Hörner unterkommen. Aber ich durfte einmal erleben, was möglich ist. Vielen Dank! Kein anderes akustisches System darf auch nur dran tippen, was Ihr klanglich auf die Beine gestellt habt. Herzliche Gratulation!

I bought trios from jim smith 8 years ago. I see he is no longer your dealer. Please forward a price list and brochure on them ( with any reviews available ). I currently use an atmosphere OTL to drive them. I also have a severe room resonance at 50-6- cycles. can you recommend an equalizer for the bass line?

i would like to ask why Avantgarde Acoustic only produce or make SS amp such as model 3 and model 5 but not tube amp, is there any advantage or tube amp ?. On the other hand , most of AGV speaker owner use tube amp why is it sir.

Dear Kumar, For us as a speaker manufacturer the sonic end result is our main concern, not the amplifier technology used to achieve it. Very often the differences between amplifiers are better described as a matter of taste than as a quantum leap, but the Avantgarde Acoustic engineers were looking for something that goes beyond the usual "question of faith" regarding amplifier design.
Following the cardinal assumption that no amplifier is perfect, our engineering researched the imperfections of various layouts, trying to avoid or minimise them. And our engineers were absolutely sure to achieve the desired goals with solid state technology. However, as a bottom line, our approach should not be mistaken as an offence to tube technology.
As personal taste is still an important factor, our amplifiers are intended to show you how the speakers "can" sound, not how they "must" sound. Obviously you did not yet have a chance to listen to our amplifiers, which I cordially invite you to. It might be an experience beyond the usual expectations when it comes to comparing amplification priciples.
